This 18 piece kit will have all of the bushings you will need to rebuild the front end of your 4WD Vanagon using Powerflex urethane bushings

This kit includes the front and rear radius arm bushings, upper and lower control arm bushings, the sway bar bushings, and drop link bushings. Most Syncros came with 21mm sway bars. Simple to check. Just take a 19mm and/or 21mm open end wrench under the front end and see which one slides onto the sway bar. It is the same diameter all the way across so does not matter what part of it you check. If for some reason your Syncro has a 19mm sway bar, please let us know and we will adjust the kit for you. The urethane lower control arm bushings are two-piece and are infinitely easier to install!

(1) Radius Arm Bushings Kit PFF85-1009X2

(1) Upper Control Arm Bushing Kit PFF85-1006X4

(1) Lower Control Arm Bushing Kit PFF85-1001X2

(1) Sway Bar End Link Bushing 21mm Kit PFF85-1008

(1) Sway Bar to Body Bushing 21mm Kit PFF85-1004

(1) Sway Bar Drop Link Bushing Kit PFF85-1002X4

Unlike our normal rubber front bushing kit, this kit does not include the upper front shock bushing because it's not available in urethane. If you need the bushings please click here.

Please choose either 19mm or 21mm Sway Bar Bushings.

WHY POLYURETHANE SUSPENSION BUSHINGS?

  • Increased Tire Life

  • Decreased Deflection

  • Increase Responsiveness

  • Reduced Braking Distances

  • Improved Performance

  • Increased Safety

Polyurethane has been available as a specialized plastic for over thirty years. However, recent advances have made it possible to engineer very special properties into this exciting material.

Suspension bushings are one of the most highly stressed components fitted to a motor car. They undergo enormous strains in the most arduous of conditions with no maintenance or lubrication.

The material standard bushings are manufactured from is a rubber compound containing natural products which deteriorate with age. It becomes softer and more pliable, resisting the forces placed on it less and less. Therefore allowing more and more movement of suspension components and offering less and less control over the suspension geometry.

This causes excessive tire wear, braking instability and poor handling. This is the single biggest reason you can instantly tell the difference driving a three-year-old car and a new one. However, even new cars will benefit from Powerflex bushings! Because of their superior design, they offer much more effective control of the suspension components to a much greater extent than normal rubber items.

Old and soft rubber bushings cause incorrect geometry and excessive tire wear as well as braking instability

With the technological advances in this material, it has been possible to overcome the common problem associated with harder bushings, which is increased noise. By correctly engineering the polyurethane compound, bushings can be made 25-30% stiffer than new rubber items but with exactly the same noise absorbing properties.
