Upgrade to stainless steel coolant pipes for reliability and peace of mind in your Vanagon! VW used long plastic pipes to loop coolant from the engine in the rear of the van to the radiator in the front. With the newest Vanagon over thirty years old, the original plastic pipes can break leaving you stranded. We manufacture stainless steel replacements that are custom bent for perfect fit every time.

Why you need to do this job:

Your Vanagon came from the factory with either steel or plastic pipes to transport coolant from the engine in the rear to the radiator up front.  Now that our vans are several decades old, the original pipes are degrading badly - the steel pipes are rusting and the plastic pipes crack.

Features of our stainless steel coolant pipes:

  • Mandrel-bent for a perfect factory match
  • Perfect for Subaru conversions using our Reverse Coolant Manifold
  • 1.5" stainless steel tubing will outlast your van
  • Complete with silicone connecting hoses and clamps
  • Lifetime warranty against manufacturer defect
  • Designed and manufactured in Fort Collins, Colorado
  • FREE SHIPPING to most addresses

2WD Fitment Notes:

  • We include these fitment notes for folks doing a conversion into a 2WD van.  Syncro owners can disregard.
  • Although it is not necessary to remove the fuel tank, the installation is easier if you loosen the fuel tank brackets and lower the back of the tank an inch or two.
  • If you slightly lower the tank rather than remove it, the pipes can be installed without disturbing the evaporative components above the tank.
  • These 1.5" pipes will fit all Subaru converted vans with a 2.2L or 2.5L or stock 4WD Vanagons with a 2.1L WBX.
  • These pipes are manufactured to work with Rocky Mountain Westy's DIY Subaru-Vanagon Conversion Kit. They may or may not work with other kits on the market.
