This is the gasket for the coolant elbow that comes off the engine block near cylinder #2 and turns toward the water pump. On 2.1Ltr the flanged elbows were originally plastic and this gasket fits the metal replacement units that are now on most Vanagons. On 1.9Ltr the flanged elbows were always metal from the start.
