Though we recommend our Schwenk line of suspension springs for the Vanagon (with its heavy payloads and high center of gravity), we offer these springs as an alternative.  These springs are wound progressively, with the softer upper part of the winding absorbing smaller road bumps for a smoother ride.  While this sounds great in theory, it can work against you in corners as the Van's weight transfers toward the outside of the curve causing body roll away from the turn.  (Our Schwenk springs are wound linearly for an even and predictable weight transfer through corners.)

People want different degrees of lift. For a 2" lift these springs will do the job. You will find a lot written on the various forums and other sites about the fine points and nuances between the various lift springs available. We accept that different Vanagon owners will have different needs and preferences for look and ride and recommend you do some research as to what the final result may be. 

You should consider upgrading your CV joints to our 944 joints to prevent binding when lifted.  In our experience, your stock CV's WILL bind when offroad with lift springs.  This will drastically limit the life expectancy of your joints and possible leave you stranded out in the wilds.

Please note that we have not been able to install these springs with most common spring compressors (clamshell and external coil clamp styles) but found that the slip-in jaw/disc style would work with these springs, an example is shown here. A recomendation: Feel free to check out Amazon or eBay for this handy tool. In our opinion this tool is available in my different places from many sellers but they don't vary from manufacturer much, only in price. It comes down to a simple re-branding and the tool is identical whether its $300 or $100.
