This control unit fits 2.1Ltr 1986 thru 1991 and is mounted in the cavity behind the passenger side tail light housing (you remove the tail light for access). When mounted correctly, these are supposed to plug in downward. Occasionally people remount them so that the control unit faces upward- If you find yours mounted with the unit facing upward, correct it as moisture tends to collect in them when oriented incorrectly.

New units disappeared years ago, and we are pleased to be offering these rebuilt units. These rebuilt units are inspected to determine if they are a suitable candidate for a rebuild. They are then disassembled, repaired, "hardened," assembled, and re-tested. The folks rebuilding these use new components as needed, and they have added a silicone coating to the rebuilding process to reduce the likelihood of future water damage.

Keep in mind that the cases may be scratched, the stickers worn, and the terminals ugly but rest assured the unit is thoroughly tested and will give you years of service.

Important - When purchasing this product, you'll be charged an additional fee of $200.00 (Core Charge) to ensure that you return your old part. Your core must be returned within 90 days of purchase to receive credit for your core charge. Please include a copy of your original invoice with your core return. Your core must be returned in the manufacturer's box of the part you receive from Van Cafe.

Upon receipt of your core, your idle control unit will be thoroughly inspected. If your terminals are heavily corroded or broken, if the base or case is cracked or broken, if there is internal water damage, your core will not be rebuildable, and you will forfeit your core charge.
