This rubber hose goes from the long plastic pipe to the plastic water distribution pipe on the firewall and has a molded branch that comes off of it that goes to the transmission oil cooler. Rubber coolant hose joins the coolant tower on the passenger side to the coolant pipe that runs up to the radiator. This hose fits from chassis # 24-H-022956 (Early 87) thru 91. If your automatic Vanagon uses the 251121438B than this is the hose for you.
