This steering column shear bolt fits all Vanagons and Bay window buses. Two per van.

Shear bolts are used to enhance security so that your steering column cannot be easily lowered from the body. This limits the potential for thieves to hotwire the ignition. You'll need to drill these bolts out to lower your column for access to ignition and steering column components. Always use shear bolts during reassembly of the column to deter thieves.

To install, simply raise the column into place and tighten the shear bolts until the heads break off from the body of the bolt.  The bolts are designed to shear when they reach the proper torque.
