Here is another Rocky Mountain Westy product that was inspired by one of our loyal customers. He wanted an economical way to eliminate his windows. We volunteered for the project and this is the end result. The approach here was keeping it simple and versatile.

We measured the thickness of the glass and sourced Aluminum sheet that was a very close match. The idea here was to be able to simply install it using the factory method and the factory seal. The replacement panels are 3/16th inch thick, a smidgen thicker than the glass. Get out a ruler and see what 3/16th is, it is a lot thicker than it sounds. When you hold these panels in your hands, they feel substantial and we would be very surprised if we didn't get a "Wow" comment when you unpack them. We manufacture these in house by using a CNC cut program on our Plasma cutter and then sand the edges for a smooth finished product.

We intentionally did not coat or prep these panels as we figured customers may want to paint these body color. The other nice part about aluminum is it doesn't rust. They could be left raw. We also envision the DIY crowd using these panels and customizing their own ideas. You could cut holes in it to mount a fan or an A/C unit. You could drill holes and mount accessories on them as well. So the customer will be responsible to finish them the way they want or just install them raw. These panels have not been finish coated therefore they may have scratches, scuff or minor imperfections from the manufacturing process.


This panel is designed to replace the rear window. If you have a late model van with the plastic vent at the rear of the window, this panel will fit and eliminates that vent.
