This relay allows you to program the time between sweeps when your wiper switch is in interval mode.

To install this relay you must first identify the existing wiper/washer/interval relay. The easiest way to do this is to listen and then feel the relay while it is operating in its current interval mode. It will make a popping noise that can be felt.

Once you have removed this relay, install your new programmable relay in the same location. Turn the key in the ignition switch to the accessory mode. To operate, turn the wipers on to the intermittent position. Pull back on the stalk briefly, as if you were spraying the washer fluid (just enough to get the wiper to wipe). When the desired length of time has elapsed, tap the stalk again to set the interval: To change the interval simply repeat the process.

We were turned on to this relay by a customer who saw a thread on the Samba. We had forgotten about this relay although we commonly used to sell it for Mk II Golfs and Jettas in the late 80's.
