Fits all Vangons, all years. A side effect of Vanagon's excellent turning radius is that stress is put on the ball joint boots as they rotate back and forth. The upper ball joint boots tear (lowers are much less likely to do so), causing dirt and water to get into the ball joint and cause it to wear (loses lubrication and starts to make noise and have play). Fortunately, the uppers are the ones that wear the most frequently but are a simple bolt-in procedure to replace, whereas the lower joints require significantly deeper labor to remove. Two bolts per ball joint included.
